Public view monitors

- Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd., of Chatsworth, California, has introduced two new Acuity Public View Monitors. The PVM-L200 and PVM-L300 are LCD monitor systems with integrated cameras, all enclosed within a hardened chassis.

IP camera troubleshooter

- VideogeniX of Brookline, Massachusetts, has introduced the iPulse, a compact add-on that monitors the output of an IP camera’s digital signal. If the signal is interrupted, the device sends a command to restart the camera, eliminating the need for human intervention.

Intrusion detection

- New fiber-optic intrusion detection systems from the Fiber Patrol division of Optellios of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, incorporate the ViconNet Digital Video Management System made by Vicon Industries, Inc., of Hauppauge, New York.

Security management

- Honeywell of Louisville, Kentucky, has launched Pro-Watch Release 3.7 software, which offers a complete security management solution, including access control, alarm monitoring, video badging, and CCTV system interface.

Redesigned recorders

- Vicon Industries Inc. of Hauppauge, New York, has redesigned the appearance of its Kollector Elite and Kollector Pro digital network video recorders.

Dome cameras

- Bosch Security Systems of Fairport, New York, has incorporated 15-bit Dinion digital imaging and XF-Dynamic technologies into its FlexiDome family of surveillance cameras. The rugged cameras are ideal for hazardous indoor and outdoor locations and deliver excellent picture quality even in extreme weather or lighting conditions.

Complete security solution

- Indianapolis-based Integral Technologies, Inc., has integrated its DigitalSENTRY Network Video Software and Intelli-M PoE control, plus a PoE switch and IP cameras, to make a “pure IT” end-to-end security solution.

Video analytics

- Sony Electronics of Park Ridge, New Jersey, has introduced the Distributed & Enhanced Processing Architecture platform for IP-based security systems, designed to integrate cameras and recorders to improve workflow.

Panoramic lens

- The panomorph IMV1-1/3 lens from ImmerVision of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, is a panoramic imaging lens that can be added to existing standard analog and IP video surveillance systems, enabling surveillance of an entire area with 360-degree coverage.

Video enhancement software

- DynaPel of Fort Myers, Florida, has introduced the NightView Digital Real Time Video Enhancement System, a software-based solution that virtually eliminates low-lighting problems. It corrects images made in poorly lit, underexposed, or overexposed scenes by balancing the image to show maximum detail.

Video software

- Version 3.1 of the XProtect Central software is now available from Copenhagen-based Milestone Systems. Working with the XProtect Enterprise 5.6 server, it ensures maximum operation of large video surveillance installations.
