Video Software

- On-Net Surveillance Systems, Inc., of Suffern, New York, has released NetDVR 6.0, the newest version of its single-server network video recorder and camera management platform. The new version extends the reach and capabilities of the platform with an extensive line of video clients and add-ons.

IP Video

- The Endura IP Video System from Pelco of Clovis, California, offers enterprise-class performance with new offerings for even greater control. Endura Intelligent Encoders run a suite of object and activity detection behaviors, including adaptive motion, directional motion, object counting, and object removal. Mapping software makes it easy to configure and use maps, with a pop-up window for instant access to live video, alarms, relays, and more.

CCTV Audio Alert

- On-Net Surveillance Systems, Inc., of Suffern, New York, has added a new audio alert feature to its IP video surveillance solution. Sensitive microphones connected to the audio input on IP cameras can detect audio events such as gunshots, screams, sirens, and other noises that may not be detected by video cameras. Once an event is detected, the software platform can “push” live video of the event or area to the user’s control room display, trigger recording, increase the recording frame rate, and/or send e-mail or text message notifications to users.

IR Detector

- Optex Europe of Maidenhead, Berkshire, United Kingdom, has teamed up with Raytec of Ashington, Northumberland, United Kingdom, to launch an enhanced version of its combined camera and passive infrared REDWATCH detector. The new REDWATCH option integrates detection pattern and camera lens view with zero maintenance, long-life LED illumination from the Raytec infrared range.

Network Camera

- Verint Systems Inc. of Melville, New York, has extended its IP camera line with the Nextiva S2750e, a feature-rich and cost-effective mini-dome IP camera. The camera leverages the company’s video encoding technology for high-resolution viewing without overburdening available network bandwidth or storage.

Video Management

- Vicon Industries, Inc., of Hauppauge, New York, has introduced the Kollector Lite SG, a value-priced network DVR for use with ViconNet digital and IP-based video management software. The 16-channel unit can be networked with an unlimited number of other units with a ViconNet NVR or Kollector Elite SG DVR.

Surveillance System

- Milestone Systems of Copenhagen, Denmark, has released version 6.0 of XProtect Basis+, its single-server video surveillance system for smaller installations. The open and independent platform interfaces with a wide choice of network video and computer hardware, supporting more than 290 cameras and devices from more than 32 different manufacturers.

Security Management

- A new version of the Security Knowledge Manager (SKM) from videoNEXT of Chantilly, Virginia, offers new features that improve IP video surveillance management. The 2.4 release incorporates a completely redesigned video retrieving engine for greater efficiency. It allows a standard Intel server to manage nearly twice as many cameras and support a larger variety of cameras and sensors.

Access Control Platform

- WIN-PAK SE, a single interface that combines access, video, and intrusion systems, now offers integration with VISTA security systems. New from Honeywell of Louisville, Kentucky, the platform allows users to manage the access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection to save time and money.

Visitor Management

- EasyLobby, Inc., of Needham, Massachusetts, has updated its flagship secure visitor management (SVM) system to include support for fingerprint capture and matching. EasyLobby SVM 9.0 electronically reads a visitor’s driver’s license, passport, or business card and captures all relevant information in a SQL Server or Oracle database, along with the name of the person being visited, the reason for the visit, entry and exit times, a photo, a signature, and a fingerprint.

Parking Solution

- The new ParkMAXX solution from Honeywell of Louisville, Kentucky, combines the functions of audio intercom, CCTV, and gate control while interfacing with revenue control systems. By integrating video and access control, it connects garage patrons to attendants by synchronizing digital audio with corresponding video information.

Security Management

- Lenel Systems International of Pittsford, New York, has made 15 language packages available for its OnGuard software. These are translated versions of the application software, now in Arabic, Chinese Simplified, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish. Chinese Traditional and Korean language packs will soon be available.

System Control

- Honeywell of Syosset, New York, has announced that its Internet Connection Module is now compatible with the VISTA alarm panel series. Using a Web interface, the module allows users to control security systems and view IP cameras from any PC or mobile device, such as a laptop, PDA, or cell phone.
