Portable ID Readers

- Three new portable reader solutions are available from RF IDeas of Schaumburg, Illinois. All three readers support proximity and contactless smart card technologies.

RFID Baggage Tag

- TAGSYS of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, worked with Qantas, the leading Aus­tral­ian airline, to develop a reusa­ble RFID baggage tag for improving baggage handling and security.

ID Material

- Giesecke & Devrient GmbH of Munich, Germany, has developed a new card-body material that offers high tensile strength enabling thinner, more flexible data pages to be created.

Photo ID Kit

- Secura Key of Chats­worth, California, has updated its entry level SK-EZ/IDKIT3 to include the new Magicard Pronto Printer from Ultra Electronics Card Systems Inc. of Redmond, Washington. The photo ID kit includes everything needed to make color photo identification badges using access control cards.

Card Printer

- In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Evolis of Angers, France, has unveiled a new edition of its single-sided printer. The Pebble Black Edition can issue cards on demand or in print runs.

Card Holder

- The convenient One Hander Card Holder from EK Ekcessories of Logan, Utah, works like a flip cell phone. Users can flip open the face of the protective clear case to expose the ID or proximity card for scanning, using only one hand.

Security Badges

- Evolis of Angers, France, has added more laminates for Securion, a system to personalize and laminate cards that require extra security, including ID cards, drivers’ licenses, healthcare cards, and more.

Desktop ID Reader

- HID Global of Irvine, California, has introduced the OMNI­KEY 5321 CR USB Reader, a waterproof, contactless PC-linked smart card reader that provides logical access in hygienic environments, such as manufacturing sites, hospitals, and clean rooms.

RFID Reader

- DAILY RFID CO., LIMITED, of Guangzhou, China, has released a new UHF RFID handheld reader for industrial and harsh environments.

Card Printer

- IDenticard Systems of Lititz, Pennsylvania, has partnered with I&A System Company, Ltd., a South Korean card printer manufacturer, to bring its reliable, user-friendly SMART card printer line to the U.S. market.

ID Cards

- HID Global of Irvine, California, has launched the UltraCard Premium line of ID cards. Preferred for high-definition printing applications, the affordable, durable card is ideal for the Fargo HDP5000 and other direct-to-card applications.

Secure Logon

- EtherTrust of Amiens, France, offers a strong one-step authentication technology based on smart-card technology and functional with all operating systems including Microsoft, Apple, and Linux. Based on SSL and EAP standards, its products simplify and secure Web site identification.

Smart Card Design

- The new Smart Card Designer Tool from Datacard Group of Minnetonka, Minnesota, reduces the time and cost associated with developing customized smart card applications, allowing issuers to design smart-chip encoding processes as easily as designing the layout of a card.
