Moritz Receives Walker Award

- For his unwavering commitment to ASIS education at all levels, Milton Moritz, CPP, has been named the first recipient of the Don Walker Award for Enterprise Security Executive Leadership, the newest of the prestigious ASIS awards to worthy members. ASIS President Eduard J. Emde, CPP, presented the award to the surprised Moritz at Monday’s Networking Luncheon.

Volunteer Leadership Lauded

- At Tuesday’s luncheon, ASIS International’s new Board Management Committee for 2013 was announced by ASIS President Eduard J. Emde, CPP. The 2013 president will be Geoffrey T. Craighead, CPP, of Universal Protection Services of Santa Ana, California. The president-elect will be Richard E. Widup, Jr., CPP, of Purdue Pharma LP, Stamford, Connecticut. The treasurer will be Dave N. Tyson, CPP, Tyson Security Risk Advisory, San Jose, California. The secretary will be David C. Davis, CPP, of Northrop Grumman, San Bernardino, California. Emde will become chairman of the Board of Directors.

ElBaradei Calls for Global Dialogue

- One of the most important elements of maintaining any close relationship is healthy, open communication. The same lessons should be applied on an international level as a progressive approach to security, said Mohamed ElBaradei, former Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
