FULL VIDEO: NRA Calls for Armed Guards in Schools

National Rifle Association (NRA) CEO Wayne LaPierre blamed video games and the media for the nation's violence and called for schools to revamp their security programs.

He also announced the launch of a new security initiative for schools called The National School Shield that will be headed by former congressman Asa Hutchinson.

Immediately after the press conference, New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg released at statement saying, "Today the NRA's lobbyists blamed everyone but themselves for the crisis of gun violence. While they promote armed guards, they continue to oppose the most basic and common sense steps we can take to save lives - not only in schools, but in our movie theaters, malls, and streets."
