FBI Seeks Public's Help in Washington Navy Yard Shooting

The FBI encourages the public to go to to look at the picture of shooter Aaron Alexis and call 1-800-CALL-FBI if they have any information.

The assistance of the public is vital, said an FBI spokesperson at a joint press conference held just before 6pm. with D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray and others. "No piece of information is too small," she said.

Mayor Gray said that  thirteen are confirmed dead (including the shooter), but the families of the victims had not been notified because they were still in the process of identifying the victims.

DC Police Chief Cathy Lanier, speaking at the press conference, said that traffic closures would probably continue through the night as the investigation continued. She noted that there are multiple videos being reviewed but that they would not yet be released to the public as they are still part of the investigation.
