PANORAMIC DOMES

Panasonic Corporation of Secaucus, New Jersey, has introduced two new dome cameras for wide area surveillance. The new cameras feature a 360-degree low-profile design and virtual pan-tilt-zoom operation that does not require a motor. They offer 1080 pixel resolution at 30 frames per second with the company’s Mega Super Dynamic processing, distortion correction, and multiple transmission modes. They also feature face detection, privacy zone masking, and control via smartphone. The i-PRO SmartHD 360º pano-ramic 3.0 megapixel dome cameras use H.264 compression and are available in an IP66-rated weather- and vandal-resistant model (WV-SW458) and an indoor model (WV-SF438).

TOUCHLESS SWITCHES

The 5278 Series of proximity-activated switches from Dortronics Systems, Inc., of Sag Harbor, New York, help users maintain a sanitary environment. Optical infrared technology allows a wave of the hand to activate the economical solution for touchless ingress and egress. The switches are easy to install and integrate with virtually any card access system. Each switch has an illuminated LED ring that designates status and allows for clear visibility in low light. Available in single- and double-plate models, the switches are ideal for bathrooms, laboratories, hospitals, air locks, clean rooms, and drive-up windows.

VIDEO MANAGEMENT

American Fibertek Inc. of Somerset, New Jersey, has launched two new software releases that improve video management activities. Pilot v.5 Video Management Software delivers advanced system functionality and broader industry compatibility, accommodating technology from Panasonic, Samsung, Arecont Vision, and Pelco. The AFI-2089 Virtual Keyboard does the job of a physical keyboard at half the price. It connects via a local communication port and is password protected. It includes eight programmable macro buttons, a seven-step variable speed graphical pan-tilt function, and a mouse wheel zoom.

WALL-MOUNT DVR

Speco Technologies of Amityville, New York, has been granted a patent for its Wall Mount DVR. The discreet unit fits into small spaces where it can be concealed from would-be vandals and thieves. Various models have features from basic to advanced, including those with a built-in camera supply or monitor, advanced analytics, and two-way audio. The WCS DVR has an intuitive graphical user interface, optimized data compression of H.264, and the EZNetwork feature, which allows an installer to open a Wizard for installation instructions. Remote viewing from mobile devices is also enabled.
