A powerful new electromagnetic-pulse degausser from Security Engineered Machinery of Westboro, Massachusetts, permanently erases data from computer hard drives, data tapes, and other magnetic media. The Model EMP001 Eliminator Hard Drive and Magnetic Tape Degausser complies with U.S. Department of Defense requirements for destroying classified information on magnetic media and exceeds the requirements of many national and international legislative mandates for the destruction of confidential and sensitive data. It is on the U.S. National Security Agency’s Evaluated Products List. With effective field strength of up to 40,000 gauss, the unit erases data from longitudinal magnetic recorded and perpendicular magnetic recorded hard-disk drives with up to three terabytes of storage and nominal coercivity rating of up to 4,000 Oersteds. It erases data tapes with nominal coercivity ratings of up to 2,800 Oersteds.
