Data security

Appears in the issue.

A new security platform from Seagate Technology of Scotts Valley, California, delivers a simple, cost-effective way to deploy security for computing systems, computer electronics, and mobile devices by protecting data on the hard disk drive. Seagate DriveTrust Technology combines hardware-based security with a programming foundation that makes it easy to add security-based software applications for enterprisewide encryption key management, multifactor user authentication, and other security measures. It automatically protects all drive data, not just selected files, at all times. Security functions operate independently of the hard drive, preserving the drive’s performance. Security capabilities run transparently with no need for additional configuration.
