The Medeco K100 battery-operated cabinet lock from Medeco of Salem, Virginia, uses Aperio technology to enable access control applications with monitoring and audit trails. The lock uses local wireless communication to communicate with an access control system, eliminating the need for wiring in the cabinet. The cabinet door and latch are monitored in real time with integrated door-position, latch-locked, tamper, and low-battery signals. If the battery fails, two overrides compensate—a mechanical key override and a battery jump port. The lock is available in both HID iClass and Prox card technologies.
